First Visitors

We were lucky enough to have my BFF, Linsey, be our photographer for the day. She took a ton of pictures from the nursery window for us. Since I have to stay in the operating room while they finish the c-section surgery, I miss seeing her go to the nursery with Carlos to get her first bath. Last time my parents were able to capture those moments for me and they were extremely special since I missed these first few moments of my children's lives. But they were watching Landon this time and Linsey (who was 37 weeks pregnant at the time) volunteered to take the pictures for us. Later she went back to our house to hang out with Landon while they very eager Mimi and Papa came to visit their new granddaughter. Later that evening, Linsey came back to the hospital with Jeff so that he could meet Tatum.

Big Brother Meets Baby Sister

Landon came to visit us at the hospital today to meet his brand new baby sister. I was nervous that he would be scared to see me in the hospital bed hooked up to an IV, but it didn't phase him at all. He was more excited to come visit us and was just midly interested in his new baby sister. Landon checked Tatum out a little bit and gave her a couple of kisses on her head. But he was mostly interested in the new truck that Tatum gave to him, the big picture window looking out on California Street and going on walks with Daddy to get ice chips from the kitchen. Overall, I think that it was a good first meeting. Wait till he finds out that we are bringing her home with us! Try not to pay attention to the puffy woman in the hospital gown! ;-)

Blogs are My New Reality TV!

I also have to admit that I am a blog addict! I have my good friend, Maile, to thank for that. She started me on hers and then through hers I was introduced to a ton of mommy and photography blogs. My husband rolls his eyes every time I turn on some reality TV show - The Bachelor, Big Brother, Tori & Dean, etc. But now I have found a new obsession with blogs. I tell myself every time I go to read my 25 or so blogs on Google Reader that I need to post something on my blog before I read all of the other blogs. But when you are a sleep deprived mom of two, it seems like a big task to format my pictures and try to think up cohesive thoughts and put them out in the universe for all to read. But I am going to attempt to a better blogger! We will see how it goes!

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder

I know that I have been missing in action! Having a little bit of a hard time learning how to handle two little ones. Especially when the new addition is not as mellow as her big brother was. We were really spoiled by how easy Landon was as a baby. He was a very mellow baby, did a great job at breastfeeding and only woke up once a night from the day we brought him home from the hospital. Everyone told us that the 2nd one would be different, but we were convinced that we could duplicate it. Oh my....were we wrong! Poor little Tatum has colic or reflux or both! Sometimes it is during the middle of the day...sometimes after every feeding and a lot of times it is from 2-5am in the morning. GOOD TIMES! So in the meantime I am trying to format the 1000 photos that I have taken of her first three weeks of life and put some of them up on the blog. Pictures are coming soon...I just wanted to explain my absence.

Tatum's Arrival

Try not to pay too much attention to the PUFFY Mommy! I am finally starting to upload more pictures of Tatum's arrival into this world! There are more pictures to come, but I will start with these. I am trying to catch up on the blog and I am continuing to take a million pictures. I definitely don't want to be accused of the "2nd child" syndrome!

Tatum Grace Sanchez

We are back! So much to write about for such a short amount of time! Tatum Grace Sanchez was born on Monday, June 29th at 12:41pm. She weighed 8lbs and 12 ounces and was 20 inches long. She is six days old today. We came home on Friday afternoon and things have gone really well with Landon. He is such a good big brother and very loving to his little sister. It is going to take me a while to get more pictures posted, but they are coming. We potentially took 410 pictures! Is that a lot for six days of life? HA! I promise not to overwhelm you will all 410 pictures. Here are just a couple of photos from her first day!

Hi Blog it's Me Margaret (Melissa)!

I have been writing this blog for about a year and a half to keep track of all of our sweet little guy's experiences as we watch him grow up. But now we are about 15 hours away from adding a sweet baby girl to our family. That is part of the reason I posted about 16 posts in the last couple of days. I wanted to make sure I was caught up before things got a little crazy with two kids. Potentially a side effect of NESTING!
I am thinking that I need to change the title of the blog and change it to be more from my perspective instead of Landon's perspective. This is exciting and nerve wracking at the same time. It is a lot easier to write from the perspective of a two year old and not to have to articulate yourself through the adult perspective. I have never had a talent for writing, but I thought that I might like to express my opinion a little bit more as I take on the next "adventure" in the Sanchez family and grow from a family of three to a family of four.
What I need is everyone's help in picking a new name for our blog. I think I will keep the web address the same since everyone already has that address, but I wanted to change the title from Landon's World to something that incorporated the entire family. Something with Sanchez in it??? Any ideas???
I should be back in awhile (maybe next week) with pictures of our little princess. I can't wait to introduce her to all of you!
Cheers, Melissa

Tatum's Room

People were asking me a long time before Tatum was born to post pictures of her room. I finally took some pictures to share. I still need to order her name letters for above her crib and some hooks for by the door and then her room will be done. We kept the queen bed in the room so we could still have the option of using this room as a guest room. So that is why we went with the brown and pink to keep it a little more sophisticated than just a baby's nursery.

Party of Three

Mommy and Daddy took me to play and have lunch on Saturday and Sunday. It is our last weekend as a family of three. Baby Sister is coming on Monday and then we will be a family of four, so Mommy and Daddy wanted to make sure we had a lot of "Landon" time. Mommy has already cried a lot this weekend as we snuggled together on the couch or I have given her sweet kisses. I am not sure why she is so emotional, but I just keep smiling my sweet smile at her!

Happy Father's Day Daddy!

I was able to give Daddy my surprise that I made for him the week before at Terra Mia Pottery Studio. He really liked it and was so excited to take it to work to drink his coffee out of. Mommy and I then took Daddy to brunch at Garibaldi's for Daddy's Day. I am so lucky to have such an amazing Daddy that plays with me, reads to me, takes me on adventures and loves me unconditionally. I love you!

Family BBQ

My cousin, Nick, who is in the Army, was home for a visit. So we all met up at Crissy Field for a BBQ picnic. It was such a nice day and we really enjoyed digging around in the sand. My cousin, Mikey, who is almost five years old, ended up having three different outfit changes. He really had fun in the mud and water! My cousin, Nikki, is off to Europe for a three week trip as a Student Embassador. Mommy thinks she is going to some amazing places.

Pool Time

Linsey invited the Mommies and all the kids over to her house for a POOL PARTY! There were four mommies (Erin, Taylor, Linsey and Mommy) and four kids (not counting the two in Mommy and Linsey's tummies). Baby Amelia, Baby Raleigh, Jett and I had so much fun in the pool! Mommy even let me post a picture of her in a bathing suit at 39 weeks pregnant! Wow...that is brave!
