Clancy's Pumpkin Patch

We went to Clancy's pumpkin patch in the city to pick out our pumpkins. It is this cute little pumpkin patch in the Inner Sunset. They had a ton of pumpkins and somehow managed to even have hayrides, which sounds kind of funny in San Francisco. We ended up coming home with about six pumpkins because Landon kept picking them out and we had a hard time telling him no!

Goblin Jamboree

What a difference a year makes! This is Landon at the Goblin Jamboree at the Bay Area Discovery Museum last year. I was able to get him into this adorable lion costume - which he preferred to refer to as Alex the lion from Madagascar the movie. I was shocked that he didn't rip the hood off and kept it on the whole time. I feel like this might be the last time Mommy is able to get Landon into a "cutesy" costume. I am sure that next year there will be a lot more of Landon's opinion in the costume. Tatum was a chili pepper but we didn't put her in it for the Goblin Jamboree.

Tatum's Playgroup

I joined a second playgroup with babies all around the same age as Tatum. Landon's playgroup is still going strong after 2.5 years. These ladies have really helped me over the last couple of years. So I am excited to be joining another group so Tatum has her own posse of friends. Just like I stated in my previous post, I am like a new mom all over again. So it is nice to have this group of ladies to talk to about what is going on in Tatum's life and their babies' lives.

Tatum Rolled Over Today!

Tatum rolled over today at 3.5 months old. She rolled over from her stomach to her back - which is the easier of the two. She did it so fast and of course I couldn't get her to do it again when I went running for the video camera. Way to go Tater Tot!

New Mom (AGAIN)

Yes, I have two children and yes, I have had a newborn before Tatum. BUT I feel like a new mom all over again. Each child is so different and there are things that you didn't have to do with the first that you might with the second. You get so caught up in "toddlerhood" that you can forget all of the steps you went through before with them as a baby. Even though my best friend, Linsey, had her first baby two weeks after me, I still find myself turning to her with questions. She definitely calls me up to ask me my opinion for those rare moments when I can remember what I did when Landon was a baby. A great example is when I didn't pull out Tatum's Baby Einstein Activity Center until Linsey told me that she had pulled out her activity center for Barrett. This is Tatum's first time in her activity center. Let me go call Linsey and see what else is next in the development process! ;-)

Blue Angels & China Beach

We met my brother and his family at China Beach to watch the parade of ships come in for Fleet Week. Of course, typical San Francisco weather is was cold and foggy. The gray ships seemed to blend into the fog. We still had a great time all bundled up playing on our own "personal" beach. There was literally no one else there on the beach except for us. My parents met us later to go watch the Blue Angels perform at Alta Vista Plaza. We were dropped off while the guys circled looking for parking. We found great seats and waited for the show. The picture above is all the show we got. Since it was so cloudy/foggy they had to cancel the show right after they started. It was a strange thing because since we were watching it from somewhere else and not down at Crissy Field, you didn't know if they were coming back or not. People had hauled picnics and chairs out to the park and waited for the big show and there ended up being none.

Two Fingers & Grasping

Tatum has taken to sucking on two fingers, sometimes her thumb and sometimes her entire fist. She is also getting really good at grasping and holding onto her toys.

My Hot Little Chili Pepper

My spicy little chili pepper was taking her costume for a trial run. We borrowed it from sweet Amelia for Tatum's first Halloween. I thought it was quite fitting given her temperament!

The Rileys

Erin and Amelia came over for a visit on Friday. Landon had so much fun playing with Amelia. I love this picture of Erin laughing while holding the kids. She was holding Tatum, Amelia came over to her other side and then when I asked Landon to sit next to Erin on the floor for a picture, he sat on her lap. We used to work together and I miss all the laughing that we did together every day.

Tatum's First Giggles

I think the one thing that I have learned (especially with my 2.5 year old) is that the kids are always listening. Friday night Linsey came over and we were talking I was telling her that I thought it was strange that Tatum had not giggled yet for me. Literally a half hour later, she started giggling for Linsey. It was good because Jeff and Carlos had been out and they got home just in time to hear Tatum's first giggles. Of course we tried to video tape it and after a lot of blood, sweat and tears from Linsey we were only able to record one little giggle from Tatum.

Uncle Terry and Aunt Judy

Uncle Terry (my mom's brother) and Aunt Judy came for a California visit from Colorado. They stayed with my parents for a couple of days and we were able to meet up for lunch in San Francisco so they could meet little miss Tatum. It was great to see them and to be able to introduce them to her.

I enjoy being a girl.....

Swimming Elephants

When it comes to the zoo, I can turn into a little kid. I am just in awe of the animals - especially the giraffes, monkeys and elephants. We were able to watch the elephants take a swim in their watering hole. It was so amazing to watch them go underwater for minutes at a time. I think the adults were more excited than the kids.

Oakland Zoo

We met Linsey, Barrett, Marci, Jake and Ciena at the Oakland Zoo. We are members at the SF Zoo but had never been to the Oakland Zoo. It is such a nice zoo and has a fantastic elephant and giraffe exhibit. Landon had a really good time and was such a good walker for me. The Oakland Zoo is full of hills so it is quite the workout while pushing a stroller and holding a toddler's hand.

WE HAVE A BINKY!!!

I know..I know...I shouldn't be excited to FINALLY have found a binky that Tatum will take when I have my 2.5 year old son that I am trying de-bink. BUT when you child has colic and is only soothed by the swing, you will do anything to help them soothe themselves. She has been discovering her fingers as well, but I really wanted something that I could give to her. I literally bought every binky out there and I thought that I had bought them all...but alas...the MAM pacifier I had not. So I quickly went out and purchased every one that I could find along with stock in the company (not really..but contemplated it). I am elated to have found one that she likes. THANK YOU MAM!

IKEA

We met Barrett and Linsey at IKEA today for a little adventure/shopping. I haven't been there in four years or so. Carlos HATES IKEA with a passion, so we avoid it at all costs. So I decided to brave it by myself with the kids with Linsey's help. It was a fun adventure for Landon because he was able to play with all of the toys. It is so hard to resist all these fun toys when they are SO CHEAP. Two of the big things that we bought were the tent ($9.99) - which Landon LOVES! He literally takes his afternoon nap in the tent everyday. We also purchased this fun rug/playmat ($14.99) for his room with a little town on it - roads, bridges, houses, stores, etc.

Tatum is Three Months Old

Today you are three months old. This is what you have been up to:
  • You are sleeping through the night (in your swing).
  • After the purchasing every binky known to man - you finally found one that you like - NAM.
  • You love the pink blanket that Mimi crocheted you and love to rub your face into it. It is really comforting to you.
  • You are sitting up in your Bumbo really well and will play with the toys that I put on your tray.
  • You have big smiles for your Daddy when he comes home.
  • You are still taking Zantac to help you with the acid reflux but you seem to be growing out of your colic.
  • You love to watch your brother while he plays.
  • We have you on a three hour "baby wise" schedule and we are always amazed at how at exactly three hours your eyes pop open to eat.
  • You have started to giggle but you will only give us a couple of giggles at a time. You make us work really hard for those giggles.
  • You still have hair but it has really thinned out from when you were first born.

Happy Three Months Princess!

Boys will be Boys

It is so funny to me how innately Landon is a boy! How do they instantly fall in love with trucks, fire engines, construction equipment, etc. ? It has been a lot of fun to watch Landon's imagination grow. This video is a little bit longer, but it is so funny. He gets this high pitched voice when he is replaying the characters talking. So you definitely know when he is talking and when his "friends" are talking.
